Hey all,

I searched for this topic, but couldnt find a definite answer.

I am leaving next week for my first job there in Korea, and my salary will be 2.1 million won/month

I was wondering what the total deduction from my paychecks will be
i.e. Pension, insurance, and taxes all combined.

Also, what would the typical expenses be for a 10 pyong apartment(Heat, A/C, Water, Internet)

I know everyone was on break when I posted it before.. but can anyone answer this for me? I am trying to make a budget before I leave on Sunday. Thanks!

If you are at a legit employer then:
taxes 1.7%
pension 4.5%
medical 2.94%

If you are at your average hagwan, 3.3% for taxes and the rest will be hit and miss.

Monthly expenses for your average 10py villa run about 60-100k (depending on heating and A/C usage).
