It's pretty exciting when you notice your local grocery store/convenience store selling a new foreign food. Since moving to Daegu they've gone from no diet coke to about half the food stores selling it.
On a recent trip to Seoul I came across Mr Big, Salt and Vinegar Chips, Trix, Canadian Ginger Ale, Golden Oreos and Cherry Coke. None of which you can find in Daegu but all of which I found in Itaewon.
Then in Myeong-dong I found Extremely Hot - 5 Gochujang when I've only ever seen 1-4 in Daegu.
What other foods have you found springing up in your area? |

I see Mr Big at quite a few places, and Canada Dry ginger ale can be reliably found in the alcohol section at E-mart. They sometimes sell out, but they consider it a mixer.
You can also buy it by the 30 case on gmarket fairly cheap. |

They have them at High Street Market in Itaewon. But really, they're so easy to make that there's no reason not to make them at home (literally about five minutes of actual cooking for ricotta, no ingredients you can't find at EMart). |

Really good lamb shislak kebabs at Samarkhand restaurant in Busan.
Also near Busan Chinatown, 200g salamis for 6500 won.
Ilbon ramen at the lotte dept b1 foodcourt is amazing.
Was recently in Shanghai and that killed korea for both variety, options and prices.
Quarter of roasted rabbit with fennel and rosemary - 3k won. Large danish blue cheese - 5k won. Italian and Spanish meats and sausages, good eruopena chocolate prodcuts - all half or less than what they'll cost youin Korea (should you find them.)
The options here are kinda bland, limited and overpriced, but it keeps me to budget, so that's good at least. |

a few locations in itaewon. 6,000 a bag at the bottom of hooker hill in an independent convenience store...its really small and just a few doors over from Dunkin Donuts.
Then I saw a few for 5,000 on hooker hill at the international convenience stores. One of the bags I bought last weekend expired Dec 31st and didnt have as strong as a flavor as lays salt and vinegar usually do...just a heads up |
