This is the part that worries me the most - the controll they are already begining to take over the internet. SOPA has already begun before the legislation is passed and regardless of whether it is or not.

SOPA would've only made what they're already doing legal. Same goes for the NDAA, except the latter actually passed.

They got deported for being idiots.

Too many arrogant smartas*ses in Uk. If you're visiting another country, show some respect.
That aside, brits should learn to actually speak english properly.

Am I being disrespectful when I say I'm going to destroy a cheeseburger?

So...the people from the country where the language originated should learn to speak it properly?

More similar to the cuddly North American English then? Rolling Eyes

Show some respect yourself.

Ignore Julius, he's a long timer brit / euro baiting troll like his old pal whose name I can't remember but has the red dwarf character avatar...

He probably had to endure an American foriegn policy bashing sesh with some brits and canadians in itaewon and never got over it. They can be pretty brutal and it's not like he personally elected Bushee into power.

No they got deported because US immigration is run and staffed by complete tools, with about as much common sense as a door mouse.
The fact you say we need to show some respect whilst in another country is one of the funniest things I have heard, coming from a person from a country with perhaps the worst reputation of acting like morons when visiting other countries.

While we are on the subject of speaking English properly, why dont you go and get your eat on already?

If you destroy it by slathering it with a brownish "bulgogi sauce", then yes.

ok so maybe I was a bit harsh.

I'm guessing the immigration officers reacted against the apparent lack of respect, rather than because they didn't get the "joke". Maybe they just decided to turn it around on them for fun.

Immigration officers get stressed and bored, and as I know too well, serving the whiny public everyday can be stressful.
Occasionally they take it out on the nearest deserving douchebag.

Waaaay too uptight. It was obviously just creative use of language. Slang.

I don't agree that it was 'disrespectful' but who really cares if it was? They weren't actually targeting anything, just joking around. You couldn't do that in the airport, but apparently you can't do it at all now, online at least. It's a cliche by now, but wow, 1984 is here.

Julius is a lot of things, but he isn't American. And the USA is also a lot of (negative) things, but Kuros is right, it is far from facist.

Again, what did they say that was disrespectful?
