Anyang, Suwon and Yongin are all fine in my experience however places such as Osan are a little bit to far away from Seoul for my liking.

Bundang - Seohyun station area.
Suwon - north, Haniltown area.
Suwon - east, Yeongtong area.

They all have easy access to Seoul, full amenities that are foreigner friendly and western shopping/groceries.

Depends what you like. I like having trails just outside my door, so I'd say anywhere east or north of Seoul (preferably east since the mountains are pretty nice there). Gapyeong, for example. There's a jazz festival there in the summer, so that's another plus for me.

For me it's easily Ilsan. I've lived in both Ilsan and Bundang. The difference for me between the two is where I like to go in Seoul. I prefer the area from Hongdae to Gwanghwanun/Anguk. You can get there from Ilsan quickly by bus. Bundang is really close to the Gangnam area now with the new subway line.

As for what to do in each city, it's six of one, half dozen of the other.

Yeah, I'd say Ilsan or Bundang.

I found these pics of Ilsan that made me really want to live there initially. Maybe one day I'll get to.

Dongtan is a brand new "City 2.0" while Suwon is old and quite dirty in places.

Sanbon has been an awesome introduction to life in Korea! Everything you need is within a three minute walk, the ride into Seoul is a breeze and you're close to Beomgye and Jungang (and other hoods) if you want to change the pace.
