In defence of Jeremy Kyle;
- inspite of some of his guests being similar to Jerry Springer's guests, Jeremy Kyle is quite a different host to Jerry Springer. Kyle is a very intelligent life coach/counsellor/interviewer etc. I remember listening to him on 'Virgin Radio' in the UK over 10 years ago ('Jezzas virgin confessions' was the name of the programme). He had some amazing radio interviews, and the advice he gave out was very good.

The single most depressing show on television. It's quite some feat on Kyle's part that he usually comes off as more despicable than his guests.

Jeremy Kyle is a pretentious k-nob.

His own private life is also very shady (and coincidentally similar to that of many of his guests).

I think the Judge (who sat the case involving the assault during the show) was right when he said it was a form of bear-baiting. It takes on people with clearly very serious issues (alcoholics, drug addicts, etc) and exploits them for 'entertainment.'

Once the show is over, that's it, chewed up and spat out (despite the claims).

Jerry Springer is/was never openly offensive to his guests, nor did he shout in their faces (most of what he says flies over the heads anyway) and seemed far less judgemental than Kyle.

To me, Jeremy Kyle seems completely unqualified to deal with the kind of problems that are brought up in his show. In the few clips I have watched of his show, he didn't do any meaningful attempt to actually help the guests on the show, but was purely in it to entertain his audience.

Even though I am not a great fan of Dr.Phil either, his show clearly shows what is wrong with the Jeremy Kyle show. He is actually trying to help his guests and his approach is most of the time the exact opposite of what Jeremy Kyle is doing. Now, I understand that the two shows might have a different target audience, but what Jeremy Kyle is doing just seems wrong to me.

You can't compare Jeremy Kyle to Jerry Springer.

Jerry Springer featured insane and obviously fake garbage.

Unfortunately JK features "chavs" and there is nothing fake about it.

Chavs are a big and growing section of the UK.

The future of the UK is chav. Look at birth rates. It is all chavs that are doing the breeding.

On a side note Steve Wilkos is my favourite presneter.
