I've found Groupon and Coupang to be good sites for those odd Western Products. It seems importers will use those sites to gauge demand for new products.

Unfortunately Koreans just don't get the deliciousness of root beer. It tastes like medicine to them. I would have to go to a grey market shop in Sinchon to get my fix. At $6 a six pack, it is expensive, but still worth it.

Zesto is a brand from the Philippines. Some Korean company started importing it a few months ago. I'll say it's pretty good. It has a strong root beer flavor. I don't really like A&W... too much of a vanilla flavor, not very root beer-y. I've never seen Mug in Korea, but I'll take your word for it.

The fact that this is appearing on groupon is great for those looking to save money, but probably bad for the future of root beer in Korea. I'm guessing this means Zesto hasn't been selling as well as anticipated. It seems that Koreans just don't like it.

The only other root beer I've seen is Dad's, which is excellent...

But 60,000 for a 24 pack is just insane.

The groupon is about a savings of 5-6,000KRW which is pretty good. If you don't hop on this deal though, you can still get it:

I remember Dad's in a bottle back home.. I think the bottle was nearly $2 each, so I thought the price wasn't bad, but cans are smaller. That is high.
I paid 17,500 for 12 cans of Mug
Got it from Ezshopkorea I had been there to check if they had any A&W, and instead they had Mug. I notice they've got A&W again.

For those looking for their American root beer fix, "I Love Cookie" near the Jeongja subway station in Bundang usually has A&W and Mug root beer for sale. They also have diet on occasion, too. It costs 1,000 a can.

No, not especially.

I bought a flat of it, and, well... it reminds me of trips to the philippines - but does nothing to satisfy my craving for root beer.

I cried many tears when the "pop shop" went out of business. It was great to get many different types of pop cheap. But you had to recycle the bottles.
