Pretty much sums it up.

Good idea but the problem is Dubai has nice weather, Korea doesnt..
Also Dubai is marketed as a luxurious destination, it would be hard to make Korea look luxurious when you see the ugly communist apartment blocks everywhere.

On many levels it wouldn't work as well, but Korea has more relaxed drinking laws and... actually that's all I can think of Embarassed

But it certainly wouldn't hurt Korea to have at least one unique building or bridge. I think my home city has more variety in architecture than South Korea has as an entire country. Any old city in Europe probably does

they will have the world's second tallest building after dubai's burj khalifa in a few years.

So they won't have the world's tallest building. Korea is going to be defined by not having the world's tallest building. If they don't build it, they can still be famous for that.

That's pretty cool. If these projects make financial sense anyway then it won't hurt Korea's image. Lots of my friends at home seem to believe Korea is like a SE Asian country no matter how many times I tell them otherwise Rolling Eyes

I just spent a week in Hong Kong. I really can't think of anything marketable to say about Korea right now (and my own views about it are much more positive than most of what I've read here).

Maybe "Korea! Not Hong Kong, but at least you can afford the rent here"?

Then again, I spent 2 weeks in Thailand over the holidays. So it all comes down to the "Four distinct seasons" thing.

I have no moral problems with these things, so I'll just say that better, cheaper and more accessible prostitutes would help a lot to increase tourism and my personal wellbeing.
