I am not in Korea, yet.
I accepted a teaching position in Daegu with a highly recommended school.
They have all my documents.
I was offered a different position by a different company that I would much rather have (non teaching).
How would you handle this?
If I tell the school today that I can not work for them, it will be very difficult to get my visa for the other position. School will be mildly upset.
If I fly to Korea on the school's dime I will have to quit in person, repay them the airfare and deal with a lot more BS. Should it be easier to transfer my visa?? School will be totally pissed.
Is there even a feasible way to handle this?
Thank you for your help. |

Don't do this, could cause more problems.
You could try telling your new school that a problem has arisen at home (lie basically), and ask if they can send the documents to a friend, who then could send it to your company role. |

Something doesn't quite add up here.
Supposedly the second job is non-teaching. If that is the case you won't need the documents back. The CBC/apostille stuff is only necessary for an E-2 visa, but not for any visa that you would get for non-teaching work.
Tell them you can't make it. They'll likely be upset, but there's nothing they can do to block your visa. You won't need the documents if it really is a non teaching job. But if it is a teaching job and you do need the documents then you may have a problem here. |

Oh, that is actually excellent to hear. I didn't know that I didn't need the documents for a non-teaching job. Do I need ANY documents for a non-teaching job? |

That depends on what sort of job it is, and which type of visa the company plans to sponsor for you. |
