My sister had a similar (if not worse) bite at a friend's house. She had to have a ton of reconstructive surgery. She had no idea that the dog was vicious. The owners (former friends) had neglected to tell her that it had attacked before.
It isn't her fault. Not everyone knows how to behave around large, aggressive-breed dogs. She should have been warned. My sister certainly didn't, as we had a lap dog when we were young who was a mama's boy.
I know she's in Colorado, but Dr. Barry Zide on the UES of Manhattan is probably one-of-if-not-the best dog-bite-to-the face surgeons in the United States. I wish the woman the best, and a speedy recovery. |

If you don't know how to behave around most types of dogs, stay away from them. They are animals, not stuffed animals.
Better respect the dog in his own house. |

Silly woman! |
She needs a consulting session with Caesar Milan. Caesar would probably ask her, "Are you f'ing stupid?" |

You're just a lovely person. My sister was a kid with little experience with dogs. She didn't know. It was the fault of the friend's parents for even keeping a dog that had already attacked twice before.
I've always been a dog person, so I know how to act around them. I'm the alpha. My sister had only ever really experienced our runt of a mama's boy.
Again, the reporter made a mistake. I wish her the best. It'll be bad for a long time. I only hope she doesn't have to have what remains of her lips sewn together as a living graft, only able to eat baby food through a straw.
On a related note, my sis looks amazing now, though her lips are a little narrower, and the scars show when she's really cold or angry. |
