Seoul Comic World has another event coming up next week on Feb 11th/12th. I'm not sure how many people here are interested in Comic Cons and the like, but it's worth checking out, IMO, if just for some of the interesting costumes (some of you photo-bugs might dig that).

Pretty sure it's the same location as last time - SETEC Center
Hangnyeol Stn (one after Daechi), Seoul

I'll have a table there, so feel free to stop by and say hi.

Very cool. Are they planning anything in late March or early April?

Either way, I hope you update us in this thread with your impressions. I'd like to know what it's like.

I think an estimate of 99% manga is a pretty safe bet. Ok, maybe 98%, but it is seriously dominated by Korean/Japanese styles.

The first time I was there, I was the only "foreigner" and the only one with a Western style/subject matter. But, in a way, that was a bit of a draw for me. If people dug the Mervel type stuff, they pretty much had to come to my table. Very Happy

This time out though I think there should be a few other Westerners there... So might be more to look at. That being said, if anime bothers you and pointy chins wake ya want to puke, this would be a hard Con to walk through. lol

I'm curious if my "stalker" will be back.

i had one dude who seems cool enough at first (in that, I mean that he bought stuff. lol), but he just coming back again and again.

And again.

He started off asking about Western Comic characters and such, but after about the 10th time of coming back to my table, I guess he was running out of characters he knew - so his eventual questions were like this - "Do you know Hitler? Do you like Hitler?"

Hmmm...

Perhaps he only read about Hitler in a manga Wink

Yeah, the guy came by my table about 6 times today... this time ranting about how dumb the Japanese are... surrounded by 99% Japanese Anime

Rolling Eyes

He's an odd one.

Do you sell your own comics that you drew?
Do you go in costume?
Btw, I've been wondering if the split in the middle of your ensignia was symbolic, or simply to show off your pecs (no homo).

The Captain Corea one?

Nope. But I think it'd be cool if I did. Not sure I'd be game for walking around in tight spandex/latex though.

Gotta' do a bit more cario for that.

First time to this event today. Took my son along and he really enjoyed it. Lots of impressive artwork and costumes.

I'd recommend going if you haven't checked it out before.

It was good to see the Capt again as well as some other expat artists.
