I am applying for a job in Incheon through the IMOE. I am working with Allistair at Korean Horizons and he told me that if I knew of a school that I wanted to work at or even a part of town that I wanted to live in he might be able to help me get a job there. I don't know the likelihood of this happening but I still wanted to know of any elementary (or other) schools that people have had a good experience with in Incheon. So if there is a school in Incheon that you can vouch for let me know. Bad experiences are also helpful so you can let me know about places to avoid. Thanks! |

I worked with Alistair when I started and worked at a public school. He's great. I can't say that IMOE is amazing (you'll meet the liaison and understand) but it's good as a stepping stone for a good hagwon (rare, but they're out there,) or university. |

Agree with the above poster. IMOE is not much different than any other public school job. Minimal pay, 22 hours a week, decent vacation, optional extra work if your school has it, and often sketchy apartment (but you could luck out on that one, my apartment was actually roomy and quite nice). Definitely agree, the IMOE gal who deals with the foreign teachers is a you know what but you usually have limited contact with her. It's a good place to start. Nightlife is great around Bupyeong and the Arts Centre. Have fun and good luck. |
