I mean really. Genuine religious debate is one thing but what makes you think its fine and dandy to repeatedly publicly ridicule the faith of millions?

You're really going out on a limb in thinking you're being ridiculed, IMO. It's entirely possible that the posters in question are believers like you who just happen to possess a sense of humor. My grandfather is a Christian theologian with about twenty books to his name, and one of the most ardent believers I've ever encountered, yet he's not opposed to the occasional religiously based humor. Does that make him a non-Christian who is disrespectful of the faith that he's dedicated his entire life to?

A better idea would be upholding human dignity and consideration for others.

Liberty is the most important element in the dignity of each individual.

In a world of liberty, the insults, impolite behavior and lack of respect and consideration that may come from another - such as you seem to feel here, can be easily ignored.

But, if you arrogate to yourself the right to regulate the speech of another, you impinge on the liberty of all and you do harm to all. You become an enemy of mankind.

really pathetic that someone would be offended by the term 'jeebus' ...we shouldn't have to cater to the lowest common denominator. This makes me have even less respect for that first century man.

With freedom comes responsibilities.

Maybe you should forget about your precious human "right" to offend millions and focus more on your human duty to be considerate to others.

Personal human rights..and social duties.
People are often obsessed with demanding the former, but go quiet at mention of the latter.

Oh I've only ignored it for about 10 years already on here.
Enough.
Time to grow up and learn to have some basic respect for the cherished beliefs of others. More importantly however, those with such ID's are offending God.

You do not see me showing off an ID name attacking atheists. I don't go around making jokes about them, or using all kinds of swearwords cursing atheists or bhuddists in my daily language. I don't advertise any scorn of atheism, I don't tell everyone that they are stupid or sport some avatar ridiculing them. In short, their private beliefs or lack thereof are entirely up to them. I have no inclination to persecute them in any way.

So then why do non-religious people constantly have to do the above to christians?

Your whine is reinforcing my own beliefs towards religion.
