Which "official" English speaking nation are you from?
I'm not breaking it down by regions as they don't really have different visa rules. Afaik, there are 7 "official" native English speaking countries recognized internationally. |

Use to be the majority of English teachers, at least in Seoul and Gyeongi area were Canadian. Either some of us Canadians have left or everyone else, especially Americans, have flooded in due to the downturn. |

Come to think of it I can't recall meeting a Scottish teacher...this poll is fairly representative of the demographic I've met. |

I knew a couple of Scots who came and went. One of them: her students were all developing her accent. It was a bit scary. |

Interesting- I was under the impression that there were far more Canadians than this poll seems to show. |

Koreans with a Scottish accent sound cute. So long as people can understand what they are saying its far preferable than them developing the personality-lacking north american accent.
Ive heard that koreans are starting to prefer british accents because it makes them sound more educated. |

Are we talking Ali G or Henry Higgins British accent here? Cause British accents vary a lot, just like American ones (even regionally in the US, the Southern Gentleman accent is completely different from the backwoods Appalachian accent). |

My school has a Scotsman, 2 Brits, 7 Americans.
I've met 4 scots over here so far. A lot more common than I'd have expected. No Irish so far. |
