i just wanted to know whats the normal wait time between having an interview with a school before they offer you a job. For instance i had an interview a couple days ago in the evening my time, and i got an email offering me the job by the next morning, is this normal? i found it a little strange that they offered me the job immediately considering i have no teaching experience. how long after an interview should you get a job offer, right away? couple days? any feedback would be great.

Generally within 48hours, I've had an offer during the interview in the past.

The interview is generally just to check your accent and if you personable. If they like you your hired.

Good luck.

I find the recruiter usually calls me about 10 minutes after the interview, and I've almost always gotten the job.

There was one interview I did where the woman was deciding between three applicants extra carefully (she'd actually read my CV!!!), and I didn't find out until the next day after a tense wait. She's an exception to any other phone interview I've had, usually you've pretty much gotten the job before they even call.

i think it depends on the school and how many applicants they have. 3 years ago, i would get the job on the spot. more recently, i waited about 7 days before they contacted me again for a SECOND interview, and then waited another few days to get an answer.

Decisions tend to be made very quickly here, so I wouldn't be thrown off by it. A few top universities even offer positions the next day after the interview (I know this from experience), and then give you a few days to decide before they offer the position to someone else. My guess is that if you don't find out within 2 days, then you might be their second or third pick.
