Too much for a 3 legged squirrel to carry on his back. (Reference to a famous Korean proverb.)

I recently weighed my stash of coins before taking them to the bank to exchange for paper money. I won't bore you with the results, except to note the Wikipedia has a chart listing the weights of each Korean coin (my results matched within expected experimental error). From there it's just a fun exercise in math to estimate the value of your 2L bottle.

For reference, I use one of those plastic sour cream (empty) jugs from Costco to store my pocket change. I full one of those nets about 120,000 won at the bank. But I don't cull out the 500 won coins like you.

FYI, some banks have automatic coin counting machines, and it's a real breeze to get the counted and exchanged. I used to bank at KB and they had these machines, but only at certain branches - you have to call and find out which ones. Now I bank at KEB, and their counting machines require you to sort the coins first (whereas the KB machines you could just dump all the coins on the belt).

They don't appear to have coin rolls here in Korea, I mean the ones where you count the coins yourself. The rolls you do see are machine-rolled - looks like several wraps with a thick paper (like butcher paper) and the ends are crimped/rolled under to hold the coins.

Good luck converting your pocket change.

Good luck...
