And was not Canada part of that war/empire at the time?
So let me get this string of logic straight - if a NATO ally bombs a target in Somethingabad, and a US spokesperson said "We got our man", we should all jump up and down and say "NO! NO! It was the Italian jet that dropped that bomb!!!"
The war of 1812 was obviously between The British Empire and the US. Canada was a part of the British Empire at the time. The war was fought largely back and forth between Canada and the US.
But yet some who Canada/Canadians weren't involved.

Oh, Captain. Answer this simple question:
Did Canadians or British burn down the American Capitol and Yellow House buildings? |

Canadians WERE British.
But specifically, THAT battle? I believe they were British troops from other parts of the empire. Honestly, though, I don't know the EXACT make up of the troops involved in that battle. Do you? |

The title isn't meant portray impartiality, its meant to attract eyes and keep the thread near the top. Its common custom in CE to post articles under provocative titles in order to, as Big Bird would say, "stir the shit." |
