Can someone point me out on google map or naver map or give me the name of a passport photo place walking distance from Canadian embassy in Seoul that takes proper Canadian passport picture and know what they are doing???

I'm applying for passport renewal and the photo place I took pictures this afternoon screwed up ( they made me into a vampire with extra white smith ski and wrong picture size even though I told them the specifics)! I figure photo places near Canadian embassy probably deal with this alot and know how to take proper pictures!

The place they recommend is just up the street from the embassy. I had my pictures taken there in late 2010. I assume it's still there.

It's on the same street, just on the opposite side, as the embassy. If you get off at Seodaemun walk straight a bit, then turn right onto the street with the embassy. The photo studio is just past the corner on the right side of the street. It's on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

Seems like a lot of trouble for nothing. Just print out the instructions and go to a photographer near your home. Bring your old passport to show what you're looking for and explain the dimensions with the sample picture on the printout.

Don't forget, these guys are professional photographers. They can handle doing a passport picture.

To the first 2 posters: thanks much appreciated! I'll check out that place! How long do they take to print out the pictures?? They open at 9am and embassy only processes passports till 11:45 am... U guys think I have enough time to do both photo and embassy ??? I dont live in Seoul!

12ax7: no its no trouble at all. I'll be in the area anyways. I've already been through the trouble twice with local photographers.. Both cant seem to want to do what I asked for even after explaining and showing the printout ... Wasted enough time and money. I just want to go somewhere that already understand what I need and want ...

I think it took about 30 minutes, probably less.

The guy knows what to do for the Canuck Embassy. Remember to get the stamp for the back. Actually doesn't one of those photos have to be signed?

Go to your local Home Plus or E-Mart (not their scaled-down "Express" versions). Every one of them I've visited has a photographer's concessionaire. It only costs a few thousand won and you get a professional product. On the counter, there will be a number of samples. If you don't speak Korean, you just have to point at the samples and say, "Yeo-gweon." Make sure you're not wearing a white shirt, though, as the background for the photos is white.

CentralCali, Actually, Homeplus was the first place I tried that screwed up. =(. I'll pass on the homeplus ( at least the one I went too) I'm sure other emarts/homeplus might be fine..... I'd like to try something closer to embassy that knows canadian passport sizes / requirements already...

Keep in mind that it's not just the picture itself, but also the details on the back of the photo that the embassy can be strict on.

You're new in the country, so it should be ok. But if you've been here for any amount of years, there's a good chance they'll give you "trouble" for not having a guarantor.
