Lets compare movies that have similar plots. Name 2 movies, a brief description of their similar plot, and which one you like better.

I'll start with "Taken" and "Man On Fire".

Both movies center around a daughter being kidnapped and held for ransom with someone going after the bad guys to rescue them.

I think Man of Fire is the better movie. Its got Christopher Walken, what else do you gotta say? Denzel Washington is pretty badass after he starts rampaging and DAkota Fanning did an excellent job.

"Spartan" trumps them both. Check it out. And no, it has nothing to do with ancient Greece.

COMMANDO - BADASS ARNIE and a young alyssa milano.

Deep Impact and Armageddon. Released around the same time and both about a massive meteor heading for Earth and preparations to avoid annihilation.

I thought Deep Impact was much better because of its cast and special effects.

Lord of War and Blow

The stories are very similar, just with cocaine in one store and guns in the other. Main actor start out pretty poor, excelling at his trade, trying to have a social life, meeting difficulties.

Both movies are quite good movies. I would say Lord of War is more polished, but I'm not really sure if it's better.

Love them both... nice work! Nobody seems to know about Tender Mercies. Great flick.

Leon and The Man From Nowhere (Ajosshi).

Retired hard-guy/hitman just wants an easy life. Little girl who lives next door to him gets kidnapped by bad guys, forcing our hero reluctantly back to his former ways.

A lot of people criticise Ajosshi for ripping off Leon too much, even a lot of Koreans! However, despite everything, it is a pretty good movie and Won Bin, it has to be said, kicks some serious a$$ in it.

Mission to Mars and Red Planet

Both movies are about going to Mars. I don't recall seeing either of them. I remember hearing both of them were awful.

I have seen both of them...not good movies...or wait...isn't it just one bad movie and the title is really
Mission to Mars - The Red Planet.
That might explain why I can't remember either distinctly but can't forget having seen them. Wink
