|
|
I just moved to Puk Incehon (near Seoul) without being able to save much before I arrived.
Although I am limited financially for the next month or so, I'd still like to get outside my dweling and explore a little, Meet some people, see some sights.
Can anyone suggest some museums, pastimes, culinary experiences, etc. that are condusive to a tight budget? |

If you want to eat out on the cheap, then you probably want to try some kimpap (sushi rolls) (1000-2000won per roll) and the various soups that you can get for 3000-5000won a serving. I'm partial to yukkaejjang (spicy beef soup), talkkaejjang (spicy chicken soup), kimchjiggae (kimchi stew), tubu jiggae (tofu stew), suntubu jiggae (soft tofu stew), and deonjjang jiggae (Korean miso stew, similar to tubu jiggae, but with the bean paste). |

There are a number of nice places to visit for free in Seoul and beyond.
For Example:
* National Museum of Korea - Free
* Seoul Forest - Free
* Namsan Park - Free
* Suwon Fortress - Free
You can also get a Goodwill Guide which also free: http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/GK/GK_EN_2_7_3_1.jsp
On the weekend, drink outside a Family Mart or 7Eleven |
