Hey,

Contract finishes Feb 29th.
My ARC and E2 Visa on my passport both go up til late April/early May.

I will be starting a new job in March. Can I transfer easily or do I need new documents?

Also, does my current employer have to do anything? I'm getting a letter of release, but besides that?

And will my new employer sort the visa transfer or will I have to do it?

Thanks.

3 hours is too long to wait?

Yes, you can transfer easily after the end of your current contract.
Your old employer doesn't need to do anything but pay you out.

You shouldn't need new documents UNLESS:
a) you are American AND b) you didn't submit an FBI check yet.

To transfer you need:
new contract
passpport
ARC
LOR is convenient but not necessary at the end of a contract.
application (check 2 boxes at the top; extension and change of employer.
Fees (30k for the extension and 60k for the transfer)
new employer letter of guarantee (sponsorship form)
new employer business registration (copy).

.

Hey thanks a million. I've a million things on my mind and thought my first post was ages ago. Add to that that I'm on my iPhone and everything looks really small so I didn't read the times.

Thanks for the detailed and helpful post. I got a bit panicked when I thought I might have to get new docs. It's great to hear that I dont.

STILL YOU MIGHT ... consider getting a new CRC just in case. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and a transfer and renewal will go easily BUT always expect things to go wrong.

Also next time if you post if you are in a rush - tell us. More details the better. Plus thanks for the notice on you are using Iphone.

When you got the spare time - give a search around on the board your question has been asked multiple times.
