I sent my stuff to the New York consulate. Nowhere on their website does it have the documents listed so I just looked at the Atlanta and D.C. lists. The Atlanta list says transcripts OR a notarized copy of the diploma. I didn't have transcripts but I had my diploma so I sent that. I got a call from the New York embassy telling me that they need my transcripts. I had my friend who still goes to my university go get them for me and now he's trying to FAX them but the FAX number isn't working! No one at the embassy is answering or returning my calls. I have to leave for Korea on Monday.
This is ridiculous. They need another method of doing this.
Just a warning to everyone... send your transcripts. |

I always thought that you needed to provide sealed and signed transcripts? But that's in the UK.
Good luck. |

Tell them to read the immigration rules at Korean immigration site. The transcript requirment was stopped at least 2 years ago. |

Just an update... the fax went through, they stamped my passport, and I just got it back in the mail an hour ago.
Good luck to everyone who is still going through this hellish process. Hopefully I will never have to go through it again. |

The consulate in DC hardly needed anything from me. They list a bunch of things on their website but in the end, I just needed the form with my visa number, a copy of my contract, and my passport.
I'd say it's best t call them and ask them what you need, but then, their line was always busy. I just walked in with everything I thought they could possibly need, including my transcript, but they only took what I mentioned above. |
