The gym I go to now has a separate free weight room. most of the serious gym rats go there. The larger room has the machines and cardio. The larger room does have a small freeweight area too.

This setup seems to work well.

And if I knew the gym owner, lived in Itaewon or had nothing but time to travel around and hound strangers for inside information on their business profits, that would be a great idea!...

I just wanted to know if most korean gyms find it easy to hit the 200 mark, after which point one can start making profit and paying off startup investment, or if most only dabble in numbers below that

Without doing something such as the above methods in your first sentence you are never going to find out the information you seek in your last sentence. Most posters who go to the gym have no idea about the number of members in their own gym let alone the number of members in "most Korean gyms"

Yes. I understand you do not have that information. i further understand that most posters will not have that information. That is why, in the OP, I asked if anyone DID have such knowledge. Dave's has a large membership base and there may be someone online who does have that information, which is why I posted a general inquiry. If everyone who did not have the knowledge to answer the question posted in the thread, it would make a mess of my computer screen. When I have time, I will go out and seek the information more directly. Since I do not have that time, and since I am in the preliminary stages of my research, I thought a simple question here would be acceptable. Obviously you take issue with it. Either that or you just have a naturally abrasive and unlikable style of communication.

If you don't know, just don't post in the thread.

If you say, "go out and meet random gym owners" and I explain to you why that is a) not an option and b) likely an unproductive course of action, why not just let it go instead of coming back with a useless post like the above-quoted "You'll never find the answer you want" post. Thanks so much for your concern, but I'm going to again appeal for people who may actually have answers (or at the very least helpful suggestions).

On second glance it wasn't you who posted the "go door-to-door at gyms and ask owners for their business specifics" comment... but the rest still basically holds
