So Ankara Picnic was out of kebabs last night around 7 p.m. in Itaewon, and I reluctantly headed up the street for the far inferior Mr. Kebab. Guy took my money with bare hand and proceeded to wrap up my lamb kebab with that hand. Should have said something. Didn't. Paying in diarrhea, today. Be warned... |

I never go to Mr. Kebab. For me, Ankara Picnic is the real deal. I know the owner. I mean he recognizes me, at least. I've seen him around for years. I first went there with a Turkish girlfriend, and I know Turkish food. Ankara Picnic does a good job. I think I had one sandwich, maybe, at Mr. Kebab and wasn't impressed. I looked on-line and someone said they felt the place was unhygienic. It's not run by a Turkish guy, either. |

Ankara always has a line out the door. Pasha is always empty.
Honestly, I cant' taste the difference between Ankara and Mr. Kebab. Maybe its a perception thing. If I put both of their Kebab's on a plate in front of you, could you tell which one came fromwhere? |

Thread title of the month.
I enjoy its succinctness as well as the choice of putting diarrhea before the colon (pun somewhat intended) rather than the other way around. |

I can tell the difference between places in terms of taste. I've been eating sis tavuk since I can remember. I have not tried Mr. Kebab, but I don't want to risk getting sick. For the sake of the edification of others, I can take the risk and try it and compare it. I love Ankara Picnic. I got a sandwich there the other day, and there wasn't a major line. It helped that I was there kind of late. I like their stuff so much. They were out of lamb when I went. That finishes fast. |

I can tell the difference between a Sunshine Kebab and an Ankara. But a Mr. Kebab and Ankara? No way, I can't tell the difference. |
