Has anybody used a cablecard with Korean TV for something like a Tivo? It looks like the Korean TV system and TV broadcasters support them, but I was looking for some experience from actual users.
Thanks |

| You can buy used TV PCI cards in Yongsan for like 10,000 won. I've thought of getting one, but decided not to, as there is nothing worth recording on these channels that interests me. The Western stuff I can just download. But I believe they all come with some software for recording to your HDD. |

Thanks Swampfox10mm, but that's not exactly what I meant. I am curious to know if anybody has rented a cablecard from their cable company to use with a Tivo or Ceton Infinitv 4 type device. Cablecards allow you to view encrypted channels using your own tuner device so that you don't have to use the cable boxes provided by the cable company. It seemed like Korea supports the use of cablecards when I looked into it. I'm not sure, though, so I wanted to see if anybody had any experience with that.
Or can you just view any station at all with a regular digital (non-cablecard) tuner? Are Korean cable TV channels not encrypted? |
