Regardless of how well you teach, ditching your kids mid-year without warning isn't cool.

i suppose you missed the "30 day notice".....

ie not w/o notice

Guessed you missed the 10,000 odd posts by people who gave notice and didn't get paid for their last month or so of work and were unable to stick around to fight for it.

This ain't home.

Truth be told, short term employment won't cover anything and you will get hooked for the costs of your airfare as well. Savings = $0 and you get a bad taste in your mouth to go with it.

If you want short term work, go to Mexico. The savings will be about the same after you take away the travel expenses.

.

So your saying most hagwon bosses are corrupt and wont pay you your last paycheck after giving a 30 day notice?

Personally Im not leaving the country until I get my last paycheck, but thats just me.

Also I stayed 3 months and pulled a runner and came home with 2k after paying for my flight home. So yes you can save some on a short term employment.

Why did you feel the need to run rather than give notice?

You answered your own question.

And this has what exactly to do with your hagwon not paying your lasts month salary AFTER 6 months AND putting in a 30 day notice?

Apples n Oranges....

Agreed Apples - Oranges.

It does however put what you said in another thread in some perspective....no worries.

More like apples and sour grapes and yes.

Oh, and airfare repayment (or not) is strictly a contractual matter so it wouldn't matter if they worked 6 months, 3 months or 9 months... depending on what was in the contract that they agreed to.

Moral issues aside, justify it how you will, you ran because you knew that they would keep your last pay and you would have worked your last month with no cash to show for it.

ugh........ horrible. absolutely horrible.

sure, hagwon owners treat us like crap. but not all of them do. i don't believe in an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. it's just bad karma.

stay a whole contract or don't come at all.
