Anyone got any experience with this school?
Got an interview with them tonight. It's my first interview, so even though I don't fancy the working hours too much (11 - 8 ) I thought I'd give it a go for some practice and see how it goes.
I've also got an interview with Korvia on Thursday. I'm really liking the idea of working in a public school, but feel it will take longer to organise, and I'm getting to the point where I just want to go now. Hmm what to do!
Anyway hope someone can help! |

I can't give you any specific help or advice with regards to that school, but I can give you some general advice.
I know what you mean when you say you just want to get on with things, but trust me, whatever you do, do not rush into it! Korea is rife with shady and corrupt establishments just waiting to prey on their next victims. Go through the natural motions and do you research thoroughly. You can get a general impression from the interview but follow that up with your own checks about the school in question. Make sure you ask for the names and contact details of a couple of current foreign staff members and even post the proposed contract on these forums if you are skeptical.
Good luck! |

Cheers Stew.
Yeah, I've done quite a lot of research, thats the issue now I'm a bit researched out and just wanna crack on with getting a job sorted.
Either way, I'm definitely going to wait till I speak to Korvia and see what they say before signing or sending anything. If it is likely I'll be able to get a public school job I'll probably hold on for that. |

Is it in Bupyeong-gu per chance? If so expect to do lots of work and not be paid. I am currently waiting on about 3.5mil from the current owner which he pays me in dribs and drabs to avoid prison and an ass kicking from my husband But if you like volunteering it could be the perfect job for you! The kids were nice to be fair |

Are you in Korea now? Do you have all your documents? I am working at an Academy with low working hours and very small class sizes. I want to leave asap because I live in Seoul...work at a uni in Seongnam and this academy is in Gimpo Si/Incheon Wondang area....email me if you like for details....the academy name is Highest.

There will be plenty of roles which will come your way, do not rush it and take something which from the outset your not comfortable with.
If you did interview accept the role, go all the way to Korea you may regret it and changing a role once already started without a good reason is not possible. |

Thanks for the advice. As for the public school, definitely didn't take longer to organise. Korvia set up an interview for me with a PS in Bucheon and I was offered the job, sent my visa documents yesterday. |
