| Religious crap. Minute by minute updates on what people are doing with their life. I don't give a damn if you had an awesome bagel this morning. Unless you're getting me some. |

| I really don't like it when Negative Nancy type people constantly complain about their lives on Facebook. I know they're usually doing it to try to get sympathy, but they're not getting any from me! Seriously, these people either need to change their attitudes or their circumstances. |

The games that repeatedly spam... that's the only thing that really bothers me.
If people are voicing their opinions that I don't like... so be it. Either I stay friends or I don't. |

Agreed.
Its too easy to offend people on facebook. Your opinion, lame jokes or wit is always going to offend someone.
In the absence of face to face communiction, the written word can be too easily misconstrued.
Which is why I maintain virtual radio silence on my wall. To me Facebook is basically an enhanced version of email with photoshare capabilities... nothing more. |

Ambiguous status updates that require an explanation.
One of my friends is a master of these. Some examples:
"I wish that hadn't happened"
"That was awesome."
"People can be idiots sometimes."
and the all time classic...
"You won't believe what just happened!"
I might if you told me. |

I just saw a pretty dumb update.
One guy talking about taking a second job in Korea. You know, hinting that he's making good money.
One of the comments further down reads " You have no idea how awesome it is to be white until you leave Europe. "
Then other comments giving a hypothetical high five.
Pretty dumb IMHO. |

Creeper1 that is funny and sad at the same time isn't it?
I can say that I read far worse from people applying for jobs, including post interview comments on their FB pages! |

I left Facebook and joined twitter when I did so. I can more easily ignore twitter and I dont have to follow people from high school or ex-girlfriends. |

You can do it!
How many friends does one really have anyhow?
How much privacy does one really think they have? |

I suppose its the convenience. You can touch bases or share a thought with people at any time.. without having to compose an email (which usually takes the form of a letter).
Having said that advantages are still not worth it sometimes. I'm considering leaving it. Teetering on the edge. |

Debated leaving FB for months - though I never logged in - but finally deleted my account today. 14 days and I am gone. My only regret is having waited so long.
I do have a question though: when I delete my account, does everyone on FB know? I mean, is there a notice "Carbon deleted their account" or something? |

There are negatives associated with leaving facebook.
Being abroad and having so many friends move on home or to another country it is so very easy to lose touch.
Facebook does give one the opportunity to keep that touch.
Also consider the events section in facebook.
I have been invited to thanksgivings, parties and nights out through that.
Hell, I wouldn't even have known that they were going on without that functon.
Sad fact is that no-one is going to specially invite you to an event if you aren't on facebook. Well unless you are the life and soul of the party. |
