Anyway, I'm confused about this visa (D10) and which documents I need to get back to the E2.
When I call immigration, they say that they have everything I need on file, but recruiters keep telling me that I need to submit an FBI background check. I'll apply for one today, but those things take forever to get back.
I first came to Korea in 2010, and although I had applied for the FBI check, immigration didn't need it in 2011. Now, it's 2012. Do I still need it or what?
I'm just confused! |

With some recent changes over the last two years. I suspect many recruiters are giving the knee jerk reaction to documents request. Some recruiters know the routine, others some what and few could not find there ... well you know.
First is the one that keeps popping up is the MOE requirement of the copies (E-2) of documents like Criminal Record Check. Some recruiters seem to think that both immigration and MOE need one each. But a copy is fine, which you can get the copy from immigration.
Next still some lingering confusion about National check and the Mulligan of 2011. Some recruiters still thing many people will have to get a new one, because maybe immigration did not take one last time. But you said you had an FBI.
STILL GET A NEW CRC. You can be very surprised with immigration and other government agencies. They will say one thing one day and a month later say something completely opposite. So get it done, go slow. Better to wasted a 100 dollars, then to not have it and loose a job offer or have to spend 1000 dollars supporting yourself waiting for a paper. |
