I tried to get a D-10 Visa from immigration today, but I was told that I couldn't apply for it. My Visa expired on February 28th. What documents do I need to apply for a D-10 Visa? |

You have to apply before your visa expires. You better leave the country ASAP, every day you overstay your visa is a huge fine. |

Immigration extended my stay until my former boss pays me my last month's salary and all of my severance pay. |

Expired visa means you need to start the E2 process all over again when you find a new job (possibly with a complete set of new documents as well).

How did they extend your stay? Was your E2 cancelled? Are you on some kind of visa other than a tourist visa?
You could try one approach. There is another visa, a C4. Since they are letting you stay in Korea, you could make a case that they shouldn't have changed your visa to something else (like a tourist visa) if they knew you had problems with your school. Argue that it should have been switched to a C4 instead. Then, see if you can later switch that to an E2.
It's a Hail Mary, but better than nothing and having to get all your documents again. |

Are you now on a G-1 visa? |

They extended my E-2 Visa until March 28th. If they extended it until the 28th, can I still apply for a D-10 Visa? |

Sounds like the 30-day tourist extension and NOT a working E2 extension.
IF you wanted a D10 you had to apply for it BEFORE your actual E2 expired.
It looks like no to a D10 and yes to a NEW E2 (with visa run) if/when you want to stay/start work again.

You might be able to get a G-1 if you take Immi a document from the labor ministry showing you've filed a complaint/waiting for your money. However, you might have to go with a Korean as that person would be responsible for you. |
