Hello there you helpful lot,
Apologies if this is a bit of a rambling post, I'll try to keep it as brief as possible!
I have just started teaching in Busan with EPIK. My fiance is coming to visit from the UK on the 15th May and is due to stay the 90 days allowed on a tourist Visa before flying back on the 11th August. I have just been told that my 1 week holiday from school begins on the 11th August, which is obviously kind of a pain in the arse. His outbound flight on the 15th is booked and cannot be changed, but the return date is changeable.
Obviously he can't just change the return date and stay longer in Korea (as he will have gone over the 90 days then), but we wondered whether he could change the Korea - UK flight back by a week or so then come on holiday with me to Japan for a week before re-entering Korea and flying back to the UK...is this possible/legal?
I really know nothing about Visa rules for tourists so any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!
PS: He can't change the return date until in Korea anyway (one of STA Travel's rules) so getting through Korean Immigration wouldn't be an issue) |

As long as he leaves Korea before his 90 days are up he is fine. Take a long weekend in Japan in July and he gets another 90 days when he returns. Take holidays with you in August and get another 90 days when you return from that one as well.
To answer your query, YES, he can come and stay with you till your holiday. Take a holiday outside of Korea. Return and stay for up to 90 days more.
Immigration won't worry about the 2 or 3 entries as a tourist since he as a reason to stay and "someone to support him and provide a residence" so he doesn't need to work illegally.
