Hi,

I just wanted to let you know about this moving service I used.

I moved to Yongin and they were great. The guy was super nice and speaks fluent English. He said he does deliveries too.

After reading barbbui's post, I decided to give Ja a try because I needed to move something big and heavy. I have to say that I am quite satisfied with his work and his fee.

He's Korean and perfectly bilingual. He spent most of his life in the U.S., so don't worry about his English.

You may even get a discount if you mention that you heard about him from a previous customer.

I promised Ja a review a few weeks back. Problem with moving is getting reconnected to Internet, etc.

(TL:DR) For those of you too lazy to read through this, I highly recommend Ja.

Initially, the "name your price" to start out was a little annoying, since I didn't know the going rate. We settled on a quote I got from a local guy, who hadn't been inside my place. Eventually, we got to a price we were both happy with.

Ja boxed up all my gear, arranged it, and unboxed it. Impressive as it had been raining that day, and all my gear arrived dry. I won't lie, having my computer in the back of the bongo made me nervous.

He's essentially a native speaker, so communication was great. He was fast and professional, so I have no problem recommending him.

The local mover asked for 150,000. When Ja arrived, the real estate agent came over to have a chat. I found out that the local guy was transport only, with some help carrying. Ja said he'd honor the agreement at 150, but that boxing everything and unboxing would take a couple of hours, so we went to 250,000. I still feel that's a pretty good deal.

Distance was around 1hr 20min in traffic. I don't know how many km.

Bump.

Used Ja today. As a few posters mentioned before, he grew up in the States so he's totally bilingual.

I had a couple of estimates before Ja which were much higher than what Ja quoted (150,000+ higher!).

Anyway, Ja did pretty much everything including packing and unpacking. He quoted me 350,000 won but he knocked 50,000 off because I have a friend who I recommended to him.

Bear in mind I have a wife and daughter, so we have a lot of heavy stuff. We needed a ladder truck to get most things into my new place, because there's no elevator. In fact I had so much stuff, we needed two trucks!

Overall it took 3-4 hours for him to pack all of my stuff and another 3-4 hours to unpack everything. In the end I gave him 350,000 won even though he was really insistent that we pay 300,000. However, fair's fair, he's a nice guy, a very hard worker and did a professional and excellent job. Much, much better than my last two movers.

I would highly recommend him.

Looking through this thread, it looks like he's changed his number.

The number I contacted him on is; 010-3321-1155
