Fun because I work at a religious (Protestant, anti-Catholic, and definitely anti-Anglican) hagweon. Very Happy

I find the job fun occasionally. Depends on the class really, some classes are fun to teach, some are more of a chore.

I think a better word to describe how I feel about my job is engaging. It's engaging.

Hell yeah. Middle school kids are a laugh a minute. I'm not sure if they are trying to be funny or not, but I always get joy out of them Laughing

+1.

Kids make me laugh most of the time. They also like my crazy humor. I improvise it into my teaching. I make my own powerpoints with my own funny pics. I also improvise on PPT's I download from another site. Just a crazy waygook type of site with the same user name. I've submitted some stuff there.

Yeah its fun. Kids are fun, teaching, in essence, is fun.

On the occasions that there is difficulty or misery in the job.. it invariably stems from inept or selfish management.

I can honestly say that despite any issues I had with my school, I absolutely loved my job. My students were awesome! One can actually say they were, in a way, my saving grace because they were how I was able to just forget about all of the yucky stuff that took place up in the teacher's room and the fact that my hagwon didn't really seem to care about fulfilling contract obligations.

This is me. My smart kids can be loads of fun, and my afterschools are nice enough. But teaching the stupid ones who hate English is a weekly slog. And I'm chained to a pretty awful textbook which limits my freedom to act pretty severely.

In this job it's all about looking for the good moments, I think.

Fun = you betcha.

When I'm teaching my elementary hagwon kids I often feel like I'm beating my head against a wall to get the kids to settle down, pay attention and learn. However, as soon as I step out of the classroom for breaktime I switch off "teacher mode" and my inner child breaks out. THAT's when I really enjoy the kids and have fun. Heck, oftentimes I have fun with them during the lesson, but breaktime's my playtime with them.

I teach uni freshmen and I LOVE it! They're SO much fun! They think they can get away with the same stuff they've gotten away with with their Korean teachers....NOT!!! Very Happy

I also love the disparity of the students. I have one that doesn't even know the alphabet and a couple who have lived in the States.

Every class is an adventure!

Depends. Some classes are great, some are awful. I particularly dislike the middle school classes, the kids are like zombies.

Not really. Mostly it's just plain hard work. I feel it in some classes more than others.

If this was even a 4 days a week job it would be much more enjoyable.
