|
|
Odd question, I know. But I've never heard anyone mentioning grades in relation to an online tesol degree. Are grades assigned? Do they matter? Will potential Korean employers want to see the grades attained, or just the certificate.
In some ways, the new public school requirement for a TESOL certificate is just another loop for us to jump through. (They seem to add a new one every year.) Just wondering how much time I should spend on writing my answers.
Thanks,

Not usually....
.....and to answer what might be your next question, no, you don't need an expensive CELTA. Korea doesn't distinguish it from a cheap online degree. |

Depends on the course. For my ITTT TESOL I spent about 30 minutes on each answer. You are graded and graded harshly. |

THe online program I took was graded but it was easy, I mean... it's basically open book and you can skim everything and answer it like cake. |

If I recall you are only graded on the final exam for the ITTT certificate. I did the 100 hour with no tutor support and got a fine grade. I did spend a large portion of the time allowed to do the test, however. It wasn't a walk in the park. |

When we get our certificate does it come with a grade? Will potential recruiters want to see a 'transcript' with a grade on it. Just wondering how much effort I should be putting into each assignment. If grades don't matter then I'm not going to knock myself out. But if they do......
Thanks in advance. |

Hmm, I did the ITTT with tutor support and don't recall any particular grades during most of the lessons. If I got something wrong I had to correct it and resubmit [damn you, present continuous tense!] but it wasn't 'harsh'. Actually my tutor was super-nice all the way through.
When I submitted my last lesson they told me in the email I got an A but there's nothing on the cert itself about that. And I don't see how they could issue a transcript either. Probably the only thing would be if they were asked for a letter [like a rec letter?] they might pull up your files and see how much effort you put into it. |

Do we need to have it apostilled and notarized? |
