Hello. I recently got a toaster oven and have no idea what the Korean settings are. I've used two different ones, but both have toasted only the top of my bread. I'm assuming it doesn't have two broil settings. I understand that the top numbers are degrees and bottom are times, but that's it.
If any of you have a toaster oven or are bilingual, please help! You can see a photo of my toaster here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/76211379@N08/6984332891/in/photostream
(I tried typing them in and translating but my keyboard doesn't have hangeul and I used a site to type it in and the translations were really weird).
Does my toaster just suck? Surely it should be able to at least toast bread (I had grander ideas...) |

Thats normal, welcome to Confucian culture. Its all about the interplay of opposite dynamics. The burnt side of your toast is yin & the light side is yang.
Which side you butter is up to you. |

Wouldn't you bake a cake on the "bake" setting which only heats up the coils on the bottom? Still makes flipping a big fat PITA |

Yeah I'll try again on the bake setting, but so far the settings I've tried have only cooked the top of the foods. Ah well. There are always no bake cookies, if I can hunt down some rolled oats. sigh. |

Stupid question, but does your oven even have bottom coils? |

haha, yeah it does! I've seen them glow red, but that doesn't seem to help. |
