Guess it's time to use my Frequent Flyer miles!!
And of course once fares go up, will they ever go down again? I think not! |

It's just another of the many ways we are paying for higher fuel prices. Don't let anyone ever tell you that higher fuel prices only impact those with cars. |

Why do so many Korean websites use that bizarre and ungainly font for Roman script? |

It does have a very 1995 look to it, doesn't it?
I think didn't change the default Roman font...and since few people are bound to read the articles, they aren't bothered by it. |

I think anyone with a basic knowledge of economics would know higher fuel prices hurt everyone except for the oil companies (and maybe even them). |

Yeah we bought tickets to Korea for this summer (Toronto - Busan) and the fuel surcharge was substantial. Not to mention the reduced free luggage allowance and the creeping in or pay-as-you-go services.....
Then again, air travel is not a universal right, it is a privilege we pay for. |

I (in Shanghai these days) was just checking on flights to go back to the states with my wife during the summer. I was shocked to see that the same flights that I checked on during the winter have now basically doubled in price (almost 5 grand for a summer roundtrip flight for us). WTH!? Who has that kind of money? I certainly don't. |

Well summer tends to be high season....so prices are higher. Did you mean you checked for summer tickets back in the winter and now the same dates cost more?
That would suck but fuel charges have gone up recently. Also, sometimes it worth booking 2-3 months in advance or more as you can get deals with certain airlines.
For the record our trip to Korea this summer will cost us roughly 5600CAD for 2 adults and 2 kids. |
