|
|
I currently work for a public high school in Gyeonggi Province, and will be transferring to a new school in June of this year. Last year, when I came in June, I submitted an apostilled federal CBC and copy of my diploma. Will I need new ones for the transfer, or can I use the ones already on file at immigration? Thanks. |

Simple transfer to a new school at the end of your contract (with appropriate documentation on file at immigration):
ARC
passport
new contract
new employer's business registration
new employer's letter of guarantee (sponsorship form)
application
fees (60k for transfer and 30k for extension).

Hey, what about the medical check?
Do you need that before you go to immigration to do the visa transfer? |

One time event for immigration (when you first apply for your ARC).
Getting one for the MOE on the other hand may end up being an annual occurrence but that has no direct impact on your visa/ARC/Status of sojourn/transfer/extension.

This subject matter is for my own personal knowledge:
I did ask immigration while transferring my visa about needing the medical check and was told that they didn't require it. However, the school is pressuring me to get one. (I work at a public school for an after-school program. ) I got a phone call today with that finger snapping "hurry up" tone, which we all love and adore about this place.
Honestly, I don't feel like I should have to pay for this considering that immigration has a record on file for me. So, I'm highly annoyed at having to do this again, which means jamming it into my schedule at some inconvenient time. Some terms were tossed around and I honestly haven't kept up with what's been going on, but I do recall a semi-high profile case going to the Korean supreme court a couple years ago about these tests. Wasn't the HIV test struck down? What do they test for aside from illegal substances that affects my work? And, am I really obligated to bother with this considering that my immigration records are complete? I will register for the exam, but I'd just like to know if anyone else can relate the info about this or point me to where I can find it. It's just one of those things that I want to know rather than being herded along without knowing what it's all about. |

Whether or not it's legal is a bit of a mute point because the school can fire you for any or no reason in the first 6 months. If you refuse on the grounds that it's your right, they will assume that you're hiding something and probably use that against you. |

Actually it was a petition to the constitutional court. And the petition was rejected. |
