I just moved into a new apartment building. It's an officetel and isn't too old. In the past, all of my apartments in Korea (6 prior places) have had the small control on the wall that allowed me to change between just hot water or hot water plus ondol. My new place doesn't have this. There's just one dial that controls the ondol and nothing for hot water. The hot water works- actually it seems to be on all the time. Possibly it's costing me a fortune? I've left the ondol on for a couple of hours to let it heat up and nothing. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried playing around with the 4 valves under the sink to no avail. Maybe I'm using the wrong combination? I've tried tons of different ways. Any advice?[/img] |

OfficeTels sometimes has building-wide hot water. You can't turn it off. You should be able to control the ondol though. Be aware that the huge windows in officeTels are single paned and do not insulate heat.
Take a picture of your control panel and share it so people can tell you what you have to do.
It could also be that the heat in your building is also automatic.
Your bills will be really high. Regardless if you don't use anything at all or not. Thats one of the main drawbacks of OfficeTel life. |

Also wondering if it's possible for the officetel to have turned off building wide ondol? |
