Today I received my CBC with apostille in the mail... it is the final document I need and now have all my documents ready to go (huzzah!).
My question now is where do I start in my search for a job. I haven't talked to ANY recruiters yet. I have been pretty much just getting all my documents ready first since I heard recruiters would much prefer you had all your documents in hand before they even consider you. I don't know if this was the right thing to do, but it is what it is. Should I just e-mail recruiters who post on the Korean Job Board and wait for them to contact me? This is my first time so I am a newbie and don't really know how to proceed in this process. Any help is much appreciated. |

| Just email a range of recruiters to increase your options. Also, take a look at the job board on http://www.worknplay.co.kr |

SCAN your documents (passport info page, degree, CBC).
Go through the job boards.
E-mail your resume and scans to every recruiter that has something you are interested in.
You are ready to go now so you should get some serious bites very soon after.
Make your best deal.
Post your contract on the review thread for opinions (or just read through the thread and see what should and what should not be in your contract).
Check with one or two teachers who are or used to work at the school.
When you are happy, sign the contract.
Next step is to forward your hard copies and the signed contract to Korea.
The employer will apply for your visa confirmation number.
You get the number and head to the Korean consulate to get your visa in your passport.
You get your tickets and fly to Korea.
You start work.

Very informative as always, thank you. I have a questions on a point you made.
"Check with one or two teachers who are or used to work at the school."
-Do the schools/hagwons actively give you their contact info for you to talk with them?
Also I have an F visa so my visa is already in my passport. Would this allow me to skip the last part where the employer has to apply for my visa confirmation number, or is this something everyone has to do regardless of visa class? |

If you are on an F-visa then just get on a plane and hit the ground running or, if you are waiting for a PS position, wait till EPIK opens up their recruitment for August (should happen sometime in April).
If you are in a hurry then scan and apply to everything.
Yes, schools will give contact information when you are ready to sign on the dotted line.
No, with an F4 in your passport you do not need to go through the visa confirmation or visa application process - just apply and get on a plane. You should be able to find some ASAP positions that can't wait for an E2 application to get processed.
Use LOTS of recruiters (but don't tell them that).
