I finish my contract at the end of May and I am going home for vacation. I plan on coming back to work a camp and then start at a new school in September.

Q: Can I transfer my visa to a new employer that starts 2-3 months later should I choose to accept a job and get it done before going home?

Q: Can I transfer my visa to an employer running a camp so it is valid when I come back from vacation?

Thanks in advance

If you'll be back in 2 or 3 months you could switch to a D10 before leaving.

Not sure if you can switch from a D10 to a camp visa (which usually isn't E2). Or even what you could do AFTER the camp.

If I go back home and have my documents organized, can I come back on a camp visa (I think C4) and then switch to an E2 in September when I find employment? Could I submit the same documents and do a visa run if needed?

and does anyone know how early I can apply to switch from the E2 to a D10. I am going home for vacation the day after I finish working and assume I would need to have that ARC in my hands before I leave.

Thanks ttompatz, is that enough time to get my ARC back or can they change it on the spot at immigration?

NOT enough time to get a new ARC.

You will have problems.

Can't you pay to have it to delivered? I did that in country, if you pay the cost and provide the envelopes, maybe they can send it back home.

would be nice if they delivered but they are going to want to see my ARC when I leave the country making it an issue. oh well.. D-10 still seems like progress. I'll just round up the docs when I get home

How do you know they will want to see it? If you lost it, they might charge you a fine at the airport. In this case you would have an application for the new ARC. Couldn't you show that?

I am not saying it is common and that it is a for sure thing, but they can't hold you at the airport for giving the ARC to immigration. At worst, you pay a small fine and then you are back to where you are now. Small gamble if it means the alternative is to get all new documents.
