|
|
Hi all,
I plan to stay a second year in Korea but want to change employer.
I have apostilled copies of my degree scroll with me and criminal record checks that will have expired.
What are the documents I need for applying to a different employer?
Do I need a CRC from my home country or from Korea.
Any info would be brilliant. Thanks. |

IF Kimmi has your apostilled (national (FBI if from the states)) CRC and an apostilled copy of your parchment on file then the transfer process is simple and you only need:
passport
ARC
new contract
application form
fee (30k won)
new employer's sponsorship (guarantee form)
copy of new employers business registration.

I have a quick question...my contract is up in late December, and I would like to do a transfer for a job that would begin in late January.
Now I've heard that as long as Kimmi has your FBI CBC and apostilled degree on file, I should be good.
But what if I submitted these documents before they enforced the changes? Would they still have it on file or should I order a new one just in case? |

I would like to switch my hagwon when my contract expires July 1st, without going back to the US. I submitted the FBI CRC and apostilled degree copy in June of 2011 before I first came, but I've heard rumors of a rule change through a recruiter (I don't know if he's reliable) that say I will have to resubmit them even if I accept another offer immediately. It would be cutting it too close for me to try to get the documents together again. Is there really a rule change this year? Thanks for your help! |

ttompatz already answered that question above. |

sorry to post again, and thanks for your help! The recruiter said the rule changed just this year in 2012, after the previous post, is this not true? Thanks! |

Well, what's the recruiter asking for? If they're asking for another CBC for the MOE, then you can pay (I think it was 300 won) for a copy from immigration. |

thanks for the info, this is a direct quote of what the recruiter sent me
"and you should collect another documents...and these are not for the immigration...but for the ministry of Education..
i mean they changed the rules this year...
and here are the documents lists..
1. the notarised copy of the Bachelor's degree with an Apostille.
2. Original FBI police background check with an Apostille.
i know that you sent those docs to Immigration last year...and the ministry of education didn't ask for those docs last year.
but this year, that happened...and you should follow the rules.."
thanks |

Right. The Ministry of Education is the MOE. Immigration has your CBC on file so you can get a copy from them. Your present school has the other docs.
There are other threads on this board that talk about this. I would try searching for them. I'll try after dinner. |

thanks, so it sounds like i just go to immigration and get a copy of the crc and send it to MOE and everything else will be just as before. That sounds simple enough, thank you immensely for your help. |

No problem. This is the thread I was thinking of:

I think this will take you directly to the second page. Scroll down to what Skippy says. |

I am planning on staying a second year myself - my contract is up end of June and I planned on taking off July and traveling SE Asia and then starting a new job in August. Do I need all new documents, or the documents listed above? And during this time my ARC will expire so I wasnt sure what I do about that. Any help would be appreciated!! |

Get a D10 visa.
It means you have to wait in Korea until you get your new ARC but then you are free to travel and then return and switch back to an E2 without the hassle of new documents.

Thanks! A few more questions... Do you know how long it takes to get a new ARC? And how early can I apply to switch my visa? I think I read 7 days somewhere. Do you know if that's 7 days, or business days? Also, is there any way to leave without it? I'd like to travel most of the month and book my tickets in advance, rather than wait for my ARC to show up and then book. Again, thank you for your help! |

7 days before the end of your contract or any time after your contract ends and before your ARC expires (ARC must be valid when you apply).
2-3 weeks to get your new ARC.
