I cant seem to find on the E2 sticky about current requirements for an E2 visa if we are from the UK?
Do we need now:
apostilled degree (where di eberyone go for this?),
apostilled criminal disclosure check (how do we apostille it?)
Transcripts

Any current info would be much appreciated!

been a long time since i've done it but i believe there is no need for transcripts anymore.

the apostilled degree is enough.

for both i would send them to the FCO in milton keynes. i think it's only via mail now, no more driving in person and getting it done in an hour

For the apostilles:

Ask a notary public to photocopy your degree certificate and make a statement saying that it's a true and genuine copy.

When you apply for your disclosure scotland records, request that it's stamped and signed before they send it back to you. I was told that even if you write it on the form, you still need to email them to follow it up, after they've received your form. If it's too late for that, get the notary public to make a statement saying that it's a true and genuine document. The only difference is, disclosure scotland will notarise it for free. The notary will charge you.

Post it out to the FCO and they apostille it for you.

The transcripts thing is definitely done with. I remember sending away one transcript in 2010, possibly to the Korean Embassy or maybe my recruiter wanted one, but I did the process again and never needed it.

The notary offices around Milton Keynes will be able to walk in with your application and do it on the day, if you want to speed up the process. I did it through Heald Solicitors, and although it looked expensive I actually worked out it cost about �20 more than me doing the legwork last year. Basically, I paid �20 to be lazy so if you have the time it's not so difficult to do it yourself.

I don't think an expensive notary public is necessary. A simple certification by a registered solicitor was enough for me and other Brits I know here. It could be the difference between paying 5 and 80 quid for the same thing

Do you mean certification for the CRB check before you apostille it? or certification for the degree and crb instead of apostilling it?
Been a few years since i did a e2 so im a bit out of the loop!

I did it like a month ago. You need 2 x apostilled degree and 2 x apostilled criminal background check. I sent for 2 copies of the check then photocopied my degree and took all 4 documents to my closest solicitor who signed them as a real copy and genuine document. Then i sent them to be apostilled at the Milton Keynes place. You only need transcripts if the embassy in London asks for them which my recruiter says is basically at their discretion. I'm sure it costs us brits a hell of a lot more than the Americans!
