|
|
It has been a while since I came here on a brand new visa, and so I am not up on what it takes to get an ARC. My admin guy at my uni department is telling me confusing things. I need the real info.
First he tells me I need to be fingerprinted, then he says I don't need it for my ARC, just need to do it 'sometime'. The fingerprinting is done at the local city hall, but only from 10:30-12 noon on Thursdays (not kidding), when I am 20 minutes away teaching a class. I seem to recall being fingerprinted when I arrived at the airport, do I need to do it again to get my ARC?
The best part: apparently, it will take over a month for the ARC to be issued. I DO NOT recall ever waiting that long for my ARC. Is this some backwoodsy Gyeongsangbukdo thing? WTF? I have been here almost a month, and now I have to wait another month to be enrolled in health etc?
Can someone give me the goods on this? |

They will take your digital prints and photo when you apply for your ARC.
You will need a certificate of employment, application, copy of the business registration, medical, 10k won, return address and 7k won for the delivery charge.

Really? My admin guy said I don't need to even be there...he has photos already, and said he will take my passport in himself. Do I need to be there then? Argh! How can he be getting it wrong, he does this all the time... |

You don't have to be there. Your school can apply for your ARC for you. However, if they need your fingerprints you will have to make that other trip to city hall get your prints done. If you go to the Immigration Office yourself you won't have to make that trip city hall for prints. |

Is this true for both E-1 and E-2 visas? |
