I'm applying for a job through a recruiter, and I'm being told that recently (October) the District Office of Education requires an Apostilled FBI CRC check as well as immigration.

I was told that I would, of course, be able to get a visa with one through immigration, but that in some cities the education office requires another copy of it (separate, I presume, unless we all had the foresight to ask the FBI for two copies of our CRC).

Has anyone heard about this?...Has getting to Korea really gotten THIS silly?

Also does it apply for private schools too, or just government jobs?

But just in case, I requested two copies of the background check from the FBI (I'm getting my documents right now).

You need the apostilled CRC and degree copy for K-immigration and the visa.

The MOE wants a separate copy as of last Feb.
This has NOTHING to do with your visa or status of sojourn.

FOR THOSE ON AN E2:
The MOE WILL accept Kimmi made copies of your documents.
They will NOT accept self made copies of the documents.
They will accept originals if you have a 2nd set.

K-immigration and the MOE will NOT return your originals.

If you are NOT on an E2 (F2/4/5/6) then the MOE wants an original set of documents (since Kimmi won't have them on file as part of your immigration/visa application process).

Will the MOE keep the originals for future use or do they just shred them?
