In a Thai newspaper, but funny, no mention in the Korea Herald...

Korean Air gets bomb threat

Airport security beefed up after letter warns of attack on Bangkok, Seoul flights
Korean Air has received a bomb threat against its aircraft flying between Thailand and South Korea, an airline official in Bangkok said yesterday.
The threat was made in a letter, posted in Bangkok, that reached his office at Bangkok International Airport on Friday.
"We have no idea who sent the unsigned letter, which was typed in English," said the official who declined to be identified.
Security checks on passengers boarding all Korean Air flights in Bangkok had been intensified, he said.
He said he was told by aviation industry sources that offices of three other airlines in Bangkok had received similar threats in the past week.
Korean Air services the Bangkok-Seoul route twice a day, seven days a week. Another Korean airline official said no passengers had so far cancelled their bookings following the bomb threat.
An airport source told The Nation that airport authorities were aware of the bomb threat but had no immediate plan to intensify security, which was described as "already tight".
Letters sent to the South Korean and Pakistani embassies in Thailand last week threatening eight Asia's US allies sparked fresh security fears as the United States told the region to be on alert for attacks in its crowded sea lanes.
The group that sent the letters to those embassies identified itself as "Yellow-Red Overseas Organisation. It said "our armed-specialists and members of YROO" in those countries will attack the countries like those at World Trade Centre and Madrid.
Meanwhile, Special Branch commissioner Lt-General Chalermdej Jombunud said that police beefed up security at the South Korean and Pakistani embassies last week while investigations into the threats were ongoing.
He added that officials could not yet pinpoint the source of the letters but did not rule out the possibility that the letters could be a prank.
"Judging from the letters, it is possible that source is a prankster who has taken the opportunity to use the terrorism concerns in Thailand and the world," Chalermdej said.
A senior Metropolitan Police officer said the Korean Air letter was the fourth in a series of bomb threats against South Korean interests in Bangkok since January.
The investigation is now focusing on domestic job-placement companies, cargo and travel companies which failed to advance their businesses in South Korea, the source said, adding that the prankster could possibly be a Thai.
