This is in reply to another post about e-mart and foreign food really, but I thought the importance of bacon probably deserved a new thread.

Around this time last year there was a food festival in Seoul, around city hall, where there were lots of sellers from different countries. There was a butcher from England selling sausage butties and bacon sarnies, which were pretty good, actually. I asked him where he was based, and he told me he has a shop in the food hall of the Shinsegae Department store in Myongdong. I've been meaning to pay him a visit, because he was this traditional British butcher, and I thought it'd be nice to a an English breakfast at some point.

Anyway, thought I mention it, because many other posters seem to be craving bacon! Happy eating!

your standard bacon is best gotten at Costco. 4 1 lb packs for around 20,000. It's probably the best price you'll get here. If you want something higher end you're better off going to that guy

A few seconds of listening to that song and all I want to do is eat a plate of sausage.

But yeah, seems like it's worth a trip, maybe I'll go buy some bacon that I can't see through.

Is anyone else amazed that in a nation fed on pork, they cannot make bacon?

A nice bit of smoked back, oh yes!

Having been here for 8 years, I am done with the 'streaky' fatty crap thats full of water.

Koreans would love a good smoked back rasher or 8!
