The reception in my apartment sucks. Even the channels marked as HD are bad. Is my only alternative to sign up for cable? Or are there antennas available for over the air broadcasts? |

AFN if you don't mind US armed forces TV: UHF channel 34 over the air in Seoul area; VHF channel 7 over the air in Taegu. Rabbit ears work for me but you may need an outside antenna if you are far away. AFN Pacific website has the schedule......... |

Standard cable is also of appalling quality. I upgraded to the KT TV package which gives me HD on lots of channels. No idea how much it costs, the woman takes care of that sort of stuff. |

Was the reception always bad? You might just need to upgrade to digital cable but if you have, then I would complain to the cable provider. When I first got an LCD TV many years ago I just had the regular cable box and the quality was horrendous. When I switched over to digital, it became amazing! |

Yes, there are antenna.
Gmarket sells some HD Antenna. They do help. We just hooked-up to the cable wire in the wall and did a channel search with the TV. It found all of them. Sometimes this means toggling between choosing TV or CABLE with your flatscreen when doing the search (assuming yours is a flatscreen). |
