Calling it slummy means you have a bone to pick with the owners, or you are just a bitter complainer.

I have no knowledge of the owners and I'm not the least bit bitter. I'm a pretty happy guy, actually. Just didn't like the place.

And what is wrong with an iteawon bar dropped in gangnam? Isn't that the point?

Well, Itaewon is close enough that I'd go there if I wanted that. I was hoping the bar would fit the locale a bit--a more upscale foreign-owned bar in Gangnam would be nice. De gustibus non est disputandum & whatnot, though.

There is a big difference between not liking a place and calling it slummy. You were taking a cheap shot at the place.

Fit the locale? Have you done a 360 in the neigborhood? What about that area says upscale to you? Its an expensive area yes, but in that neigbourhood the restaurants and pubs are NOT upscale.

I guess you never saw the Rolls Royce Dealerships, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Salatore Ferragamo stand alone stores, Ferrari/Masarati Dealerships, and other high end stores between Apgujeong and Chungdam.

yes, and I also see no people in there every time I drive past. and not to mention the buildings they are in might be quite nice, but every other building looks like it's standing on it's last brick!

As Tyler Durden said, putting feather up your butt does not make you a chicken.
And to the original argument, the pub is located near kangnam station. Not apju or sinsa, etc. and fosterman is right. that area is a dump. Which is pathetic since it is so expensive. Why the heck isn't the place being upkept?

So, back on topic, does anyone know if they show much football at the pub? Specifically, the English Premiership games on Saturday night. Cheers.

Alright, thanks rainman. I had just edited my post because I realized there were several people bickering rather than just two. Anyway, that area is hardly a dump, but it's certainly nowhere close to being upscale. It's just....okay. Why squabble?

It's ESLCafe. People don't know how to avoid squabbling here.

Is English Premier like NFL Europe? Maybe the development league for NFL Europe? Thats cool, I'd like to watch football before the season starts in Seoul.
