I don't know what you guys are talking about. I have met plenty of Koreans that are very happy staying in Korea, and I have met plenty of Koreans that are very happy living abroad. Some Koreans prefer living abroad and developing their careers in China, Japan, Canada, and many like to stay home.
I think it's almost the same for the citizens of all countries. |
Pretty much. I know we like stereotyping Koreans as this or that, but this is a situation that is pretty much up to the individual. |

Silence is deafening!!
I know that Canada can be quite a quiet rural place as much as it can be a noisy urban place to live and party. |
That sounds great. I like my privacy. I actually find Korea frustrating because of this. |

I'm with you.
Some people like to be in packs and surrounded by others. I'm the opposite. Seoul took a lot of getting used to for me.
A Korean girlfriend and I once talked about moving abroad. I talked about the relative silence and wide open spaces and lack of crowds.
Response: "But... seems not safe!" |

| When my parents visited the States, they mentioned how nice and quiet it was and how Americans seemed more calm than Koreans. But of course they went immediately on the "defensive" and said, "but it's because of Koreans' impatience that we are the IT power we are today." |

You can counter that with crime statistics that show that the crime rate in a suburb of Chicago is FAR lower that that of Manhattan. |
