I know they used to, but are there any bars or stores in Seoul at all that sell North Korean beer or liquor of any kind? I really missed the boat on that one.
Thanks. |

I can't anything less anticipated than NK beer - no offense. Good cleaning agents maybe though. |

I think Roots Time in Hongdae still sells it. It's actually really decent lager. |

From what I hear, Taedonggang beer is really much better than what South Korean makers offer. That's not really saying a lot, but it's something.
However, this doesn't hold true for the hard alcohol that comes from North Korea, and this I can speak of from personal experience. If you like the taste of filthy gasoline with a hint of blueberry, then try some. |

Is this the brewery that Kim bought from England and had dismantled and taken to Korea? I heard it's far better than any South Korean beer (though that isn't saying much). |

I had the North Korean beer but I was like meh! The novelty wore off fast, and I can see why. |

This is one "Korean experience" I wouldn't recommend. I tried it one time and thought it was nasty. But maybe some have lower standards for beer.
Here's a youtube video by some teachers that should enlighten newbies about where to buy it and how it tastes.

It tastes very bad. But if you don't mind drinking cat pee then chug-a-lug. |

For the record, the most popular booze in North Korea is cheongju (청주). It's very similar to Japanese sake. Cheongju is at least better than the gasoline-like soju. |
