Is 3 semesters of university level Korean adequate preparation for the TOPIK 3 test?

I'm currently part way through the 3rd book (Intermediate 1) of the "Integrated Korean" textbook series by KLEAR.

Does the TOPIK test go by years (so level 3 would be 3 years of college level Korean). I passed the TOPIK 1 a while ago and I have no problem with the beginning tests at all as of right now (so level 2 isnt tough for me either - I've gone over old test). But the Level 3 test as of right now seems like a reach.

I'm trying to figure out whether or not it would be possible to get a TOPIK 3 by the July test studying on my own.

I scored level 3 on TOPIK just a short while after finishing Integrated Korean Intermediate 2. If you study hard, you could definitely be ready to get at least a level 3 score by July.

Thanks that is good to know. I love the Integrated Korean series. I was hoping that each book would constitute one level on the TOPIK exam.

Not all university courses are built equal. Not everyone performs the same on these sorts of tests. Not everyone in the same class level is of equal ability. Although finding 1/2 easy is a good indication that you can succeed with level 3/4.
Why don't you go to their website, download a couple old tests and see for yourself?

I completely agree with you and that's why I tried to word my original question carefully.

From my experience with Japanese, I saw how some schools would take 2 years to finish a book that should only take a year while other schools also moved quickly enough to finish a 1 year book (i.e. Genki 1) in one semester!

"Integrated Korean" textbooks are pretty good and most universities move at the pace of about 1 book a semester, so being on the 3rd book would put me part way through the 2nd year. Book 3 is definitely above level 2 (at least in my opinion) but I dont think it's near Level 3 which is why I sought advice. I wanted to know if finishing the 4th book in the series would prepare me well enough to pass level 3.

Sorry to nudge this topic a little (yet still relevant!!!).....if someone could equate the 'Sogang Korean books' to the 'Level3/4 Topik Test' that would be great.
i.e. What Sogang books would i have had to have studied to take on the Level 3/4 Topik test?

Check out http://www.topikguide.com/p/previous-papers.html

You can print of previous tests and download the audio, all for free. Take a practice test and score it your self, you'll get a good idea quick. You will most likely need a native speaker to help you score the writing, but that shouldn't be too hard to find.
